Five New International Waste to Energy Opportunities

The Middle East, Asia and Australia offer great opportunities for waste to energy developers, contractors and financiers, with substantial new projects currently underway.

Next month, the most exciting projects will be presented at the World Waste to Energy and Resources Summit, taking place in London on May 23-24:

  • DUBAI: For the first time, Hitachi Zosen Inova and BESIX Group will present their ground-breaking project with Dubai Municipality to build the world’s largest energy-from-waste facility, set to be fully operational by 2020
  • ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi’s Centre of Waste Management (Tadweer) will share its plans for new waste-to-energy projects in line with the Government’s strategy for sustainable waste management and environmental conservation
  • AUSTRALIA: Project developer Re.Group will update us on its industry-leading project with EnergyAustralia to generate power from waste at the Mt Piper power station in New South Wales
  • CHINA: China Everbright will present current and upcoming projects in China and Vietnam, with an emphasis on the market dynamics driving the build out of projects
  • PHILIPPINES: The President of the Solid Waste Management Association of the Philippines will showcase current projects under development in the Philippines and provide insight into the regulatory regime
